---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The great thing about Christ Church is its ability to
cater for both traditional and modern styles of worship
by following a varied pattern of worship, our weekly
Sunday services normally follow this pattern:
1st Sunday of the Month 11am - Family
Eucharist: Children are present for a song and a brief
word at the beginning of the service (a children’s
time). They would then go to JC and come back for a
blessing during communion. They would be asked about
their work after communion. The music will be both
traditional & modern and styles will be blended
accordingly. 2nd Sunday of the Month
8.30am - Holy Communion 11am - Matins, children
would not be present in this service. Space will be made
at the beginning of the service for reflection and quiet
prayer. The music and liturgy for this service will be
traditional. 3rd Sunday of the
Month 8.30am - Holy Communion 11am - Family
Service, this will usually be themed with a separate
service sheet, it may or not may not follow the
lectionary, children will be present and songs, hymns
and the talk will be aimed at being child friendly.
4th Sunday of the Month – This would be
Common Worship and would have traditional hymns, choir
and organ. Children would not be present and would have
their own worship time in J Church. 5th Sunday of
the Month - When there is a fifth Sunday in the
month we join with St Thomas' of Thurstanland and St
Andrew's of Thongsbridge, please check the parish
magazine or the Events page for
where the joint service is to be held.
Our Sunday Evening services are normally held
at Harvest, Easter, Lent, in November, during Advent and
on the Junior Church Anniversary. Details can be found
in the parish magazine or on the Events page.
Mid-week services:
Monday Mornings - Prayers, 9.05
Tuesday Evenings - Prayers, 6.30 A
time when individuals are prayed for alongside world
issues and peace.
Wednesday Mornings -
Communion, 10.00 Every Wednesday, there is
an All Age Communion in the Gallery Room. This is an
informal service to which everyone is very welcome.
